WCRC Church News: Celebrations, Calls and Consultations

A celebration of the Full Communion between the United Church of Christ (USA) and the United Church of Canada will take place on October 17. A common prayer and bulletin inserts are available for any churches to join in on the celebration.

Inspired by Pope Francis’s promotion of ecumenical relations, the mayor of Quilmes. Argentina, has declared October 31 as a day of thanksgiving for Reformed and Evangelical Protestants (in Spanish).

In recognition of the extraordinary situation facing refugees fleeing the crisis in Syria, a special meeting of the Church of Scotland‘s councils and departments has taken place. The focus of the meeting was on providing practical, sustainable and long term assistance to refugees which would complement the initiatives of government and other agencies.
