WCRC Church News: Partnerships and Welcomes

The Uniting Church in Australia responded through their relief and recovery division to assist sisters and brothers in Vanuatu after Cyclone Pam caused mass devastation.

Generations of medical missionaries, beginning nearly 150 years ago with David Livingstone, continues to create strong partnerships between Scotland and Zambia.

In recognition for its advocacy for justice, peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula, Global Ministries—the overseas ministry of the United Church of Christ (USA) and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)—received a Gratitude Award for ecumenical solidarity from the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (PROK).

The Reformed Church in Hungary‘s Refugee Ministry has been working to assist refugees coming to the country for the past decade. Dóra Kanizsai, the ministry’s director, explains their work in this video, Welcoming the Stranger, produced by the World Council of Churches.

The Christian Reformed Church in North America is celebrating All Nations Heritage Week. CrossPoint Church in Brampton, Ontario, Canada is doing so through a special worship service. The week is designed to better understand and celebrate the reality that the world is coming to the doorsteps of churches in communities across the continent.
