New videos highlight economic justice work

Two new animated videos highlight the economic justice work of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) and its partners.

The first video features the New International Financial and Economic Architecture (NIFEA) program for which the WCRC partners with the Council for World Mission, Lutheran World Federation, World Council of Churches, and World Methodist Council.

The second video—actually a pair of differing lengths—highlights a key iniative of the NIFEA program, the Zaccheaus Tax Campaign. The ZacTax campaign is modelled on the transformative story of Zacchaeus and advocates for tax justice, addressing social and ecological debts, including reparations for colonialism and slavery, at local, national, and global levels.

“The ZacTax films are going to be used to two things, one is for advocacy with our churches and the second is for civil society and civil society organizations,” said Philip Vinod Peacock, WCRC executive secretary for justice and witness.

The ZacTax video will be shown at a side event during the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women meetings in March.

The videos are posted on the WCRC YouTube Channel, as well as embedded on the WCRC website. Peacock hopes that both the NIFEA and ZacTax videos will be shared widely.

The economic justice work of the WCRC is funded by the Council for World Mission, Otto per Mille, and other partners and members.
